Software for the people doing the cutting
Cutzilla works out how to cut your parts from sheet material, then helps you price the job and keep track of what's left over. It runs in a browser, so there's nothing to install.
Why it exists
Every sheet job starts with the same awkward question: how do these parts actually fit on the boards, and how many boards does that mean buying? Work it out on paper and it takes an evening. Guess it and you either run short mid-job or pay for material you didn't need.
That's the problem Cutzilla was built to remove. You enter your parts and your sheet sizes, and it returns a layout you can cut from, with the board count you can order against.
How the software works
Every run packs your cut list with both the CODA and LEDGE algorithms, then keeps the better layout and shows you which one won. The two algorithms approach a sheet differently — one keeps parts in clean columns for straightforward rip-then-crosscut sequences at the saw, the other packs into horizontal shelves and gathers the leftover into one larger reusable piece. Which suits a job depends on the job, so both run and you get the better result.
Around that sit the parts of the work that aren't the layout: grain direction and edge banding, offcuts worth keeping, a quoting workspace where you enter your own prices, labour and markup, and stock tracking for the board you already own. You can see what's in each plan on the pricing page.
How we work
When you email info@cutzilla.pro or use the contact form, your message goes to the people who build Cutzilla, not to a call centre reading from a script. Bug reports and feature requests land with the people who can act on them.
A lot of what's in Cutzilla now exists because someone using it told us the workflow didn't match how their workshop actually runs. That feedback loop is the main thing that decides what gets built next.
How it's paid for
Cutzilla is funded by subscriptions and one-off Project Passes. There are no ads, and your project data isn't sold or shared — it's yours, and you can export or delete it whenever you like. The free tier is a real tier rather than a trial that expires, so a hobbyist can stay on it indefinitely.
Cutting optimisation itself is on every plan, including free. Layout quality is not the thing held back — paid plans add the exports, labels and business tools around it.
